Mateille beach is located at the foot of the Clape massif.
The water is very clear and the sand fine. The equipment is present: garbage cans, first aid stations, swimming area delimited by buoys.
Mateille beach is very wide and very flat. It allows you to practice all beach leisure activities such as kite flying.
For those who wish, an area is reserved for naturists.
The beach restaurant "Le Mosquito" offers you the possibility in season to rent deckchairs and eat.
2024: Following the concerted project between the City of Gruissan & the Departmental Directorate of Territories and the Sea, a prefectural decree authorizes, exceptionally, the circulation and parking of land motor vehicles from June 15 to September 15, 2024 in areas materialized with the aim of securing beaches and ensuring the protection of natural spaces and species. Parking pockets are provided at the entrance to the Mateille and Vieille Nouvelle beaches. All information and orders can be consulted on the City website www.ville-gruissan.fr
